04.01.2007Danaher Motion presents the latest version of its successful NDC8 control platform
Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV)
The new NDC8 version hosts an industry standard OPC client, allowing for a smooth connection to any I/O resource on the market. With the updated curve editing tool, the engineer has the freedom to adapt each AGV layout to suit every situation. The new spline based flexible curves increase speed at corners and save more floor space when negotiating tight corners. The improved tool set provides statistical data to optimise overall transport flow and increase system productivity. The graphical reflector diagnostics have been enhanced and most VMT (Vehicle Maintenance Tool) features are now available for use on your laptop.
Another enhanced feature for increased AGV productivity is within the route planning tool set, where the assistance in avoiding traffic congestions is made easier. And for even more flexibility in customising AGV solutions, the Ladder Diagram Language has been added to the NDC8 PLC programming environment OpenPCS. The new version now supports all 5 standard interoperable languages of IEC 61131-3. Furthermore, the new version now offers improved AGV performance in limited visibility, such as in storage aisles, thanks to the addition of magnetic tape navigation to the multi-navigation system concept. This means magnetic spot or magnetic tape navigation can be combined effortlessly with existing laser navigation systems. What's more, NDC8 version 1.4 provides complete support from vehicle control right through to the design set.
Danaher Motion’s AGV solutions are used in a wide range of contexts, including the steel, automotive, electronics, ceramics and entertainment industries.
